Solo Leveling has officially revealed its next major anime project. While many fans were waiting for news about Season 3, the franchise will first continue with a theatrical movie titled Solo Leveling: Beyond the System.
According to Crunchyroll News, the film was announced during the Crunchyroll Showcase panel at Anime Expo 2026. The project will continue Sung Jinwoo’s story after the events of Solo Leveling Season 2: Arise from the Shadow.
What is Solo Leveling: Beyond the System about?
Solo Leveling: Beyond the System is being presented as the next chapter of the anime, not as a separate side story. That makes it an important continuation for viewers who followed the first two seasons.
Specific story details have not been revealed yet. Still, the title suggests that the movie could explore more about Sung Jinwoo’s powers, the mysteries behind the System and the larger forces connected to his rise.
Who is working on the movie?
The film is being developed with the involvement of Aniplex, Crunchyroll, Netmarble, D&C Media and Kakao Piccoma. A-1 Pictures, the studio behind the anime adaptation, is also returning for the animation production.
The official Japanese website for Solo Leveling has also confirmed Beyond the System as the franchise’s new anime project.
Is Solo Leveling Season 3 confirmed?
For now, Solo Leveling Season 3 has not been officially confirmed. The movie announcement does not mean the third season has been cancelled, but it does show that the next confirmed step for the anime is the theatrical film.
In other words, fans should separate what is official from what is still speculation. The movie is confirmed; Season 3 is still waiting for a formal announcement.
When will the Solo Leveling movie be released?
Solo Leveling: Beyond the System does not have an official release date yet. Any dates shared on social media or unofficial websites should be treated carefully unless they come from Crunchyroll, Aniplex or the official anime channels.
Could Season 3 happen after the movie?
A third season could still happen after the film. The original Solo Leveling story has enough material for more adaptation, so there is no clear reason to assume one movie will close the entire anime.
The future of the series may depend on the movie’s performance, audience interest, production schedules and decisions from the companies involved. For now, Beyond the System is the only officially announced continuation.
What should fans expect next?
Solo Leveling is continuing, but not yet with a confirmed Season 3. The next official project is Solo Leveling: Beyond the System, a movie that will pick up after Season 2.
The announcement has raised expectations for the future of the franchise. Still, fans should wait for updates from Crunchyroll, Aniplex or the official Japanese website before treating any release date or Season 3 claim as confirmed.
